How to Install Docker in Windows (Guide)

Docker is a computer program that performs operating-system-level virtualization. It was first released in 2013 and is developed by Docker, Inc. Docker is used to run software packages called containers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Windows 10 64bit: Pro, Enterprise or Education (1607 Anniversary Update, Build 14393 or later).
  • Virtualization is enabled in BIOS. Typically, virtualization is enabled by default. This is different from having Hyper-V enabled. For more detail see Virtualization must be enabled in Troubleshooting.
  • CPU SLAT-capable feature.
  • At least 4GB of RAM



Go to the Docker and fetch the latest installation package.
 https://hub.docker.com/editions/community/docker-ce-desktop-windows 

1) Open the Installation package and proceed with installation

2) Accept the licence agreement and authorize using local credentials

Now you can find the Docker Icon on the Start menu and make sure the docker service is running in the console menu.
